Dorcas is a good natured friendly person. Unless given a reason to dislike you, she will treat you fairly and with kindness. To her friends, she is loyal, caring, outgoing, and always a bit too cheerful. Dorcas is constantly active, whether it is talking, skipping, joking around, or playing quidditch. Furthermore, Dorcas holds her friends most dear, willing to put them before herself.
On the other hand, you would never wish being on Dorcas’ bad side or you or anyone else for that matter. She demands respect, gets easily defensive, and has no issue with talking back or yelling at you. Contrary to her typical self, Dorcas will be rude, sarcastic, and overly all spiteful until things are made right. Dorcas will forgive if it’s a sincere apology, but she never forgets.
From her Gryffindor side, Dorcas is very daring and bold. She has no problem with being loud and outgoing. Furthermore, she will accept every challenge with glee ready to prove you wrong. Dorcas is as stubborn as hell with a will of fire. If she sets her mind to something, you bet she’ll do it.
Finally, despite often acting before thinking, when Dorcas does take the time to think, she is often very clever. As a student, this was shown through her exemplary school work. Now as an adult it is seen by her work as an auror is which she uses her wits and skills to capture death eaters. In general, Dorcas is very witty, always saying clever jokes and playful sarcastic comments.

history;;
Dorcas was born into a very stereotypical pure blood family. Both of her parents had met at Hogwarts whist is Slytherin. From the day Slyvia had turned fourteen an arranged marriage had been set between the two of them scheduled for four years later, upon their graduation from Hogwarts. The two didn’t love each other, but went along with it because it was what their parents desired and because they hoped that they would later come to love each other.
For two years it was a loveless marriage, but then Asher was born giving them someone to bond over. They raised him as the jewel of their lives, and grow up to be a fine young proper boy he did. Four years later, a second, very different child was born by the name of Dorcas. She may have shared the family looks and she may have had Jonathan’s great grandmother’s name, but she was nothing like most Meadows. As a baby, Dorcas was always screaming and crying, not letting her mother calm her. As a toddler able to stand on her own two feet, Dorcas became mischievous wandering around the whole house. And finally, as a young girl, Dorcas was stubborn beyond belief, refusing to wear dresses, playing in the dirt, and the like.
Like the family expected, when Asher was eleven, he was sorted into Slytherin. Four years later when Dorcas attended Hogwarts, she broke the family tradition by being sorted into Gryffindor. The Meadows took this harshly, first reacting in surprise and soon after in anger. Asher who felt this was his responsibility began fighting with his younger sister, always being mean and rude to her. For the first year of her life, Dorcas did not take to this well. She was upset greatly, and it showed. However, by the time her second year of Hogwarts rolled around, Dorcas was sick of being treated so poorly. As a result, she began to ignore the comments and do things to purposely spite them like painting her bedroom in red and gold stripes and joining the Gryffindor quidditch team.
Unlike how Dorcas’ relationship with her family deteriorated, her life in school thrived. She had numerous friends, excelled in classes, became an excellent deuler, aced her OWLs and NEWTs, and all in all lived a happy life.
Outside of Hogwarts these acts of defiance continued. For instance, her parents had arranged for her to marry someone named Adam who she turned down. Additionally, instead of living as a trophy wife as planned, Dorcas became an auror. Furthermore, Dorcas put on the grand finale of all acts of spite by joining the Order of Phoenix, a group that went against all of her families beliefs, but followed all of her own.

Hope that it’s okay since its from another site and a different version of Dorcas I made.
Most people considered their house to be their home. If this was true in Dorcas’ case, that would be a very sad home, a home filled with cold, misery, and stuck up grandparents. Therefore, Dorcas chose not to consider it a home at all. In fact, if it was anything, the Mayhew Manor was more like her second, no third home, her first being the Ravenclaw Tower, and the second being the Hogwarts library.
How could a library be considered a home one might ask? People don’t come home to rest and eat at libraries every night, nor do they spend the night there. A home is supposed to be some place warm and friendly, not an oversized room filled with books. The only warmth one could ever find in a library was a stack of books set on fire, and even that isn’t friendly. If this was all true, then how could a library ever be considered a home? It was just inconceivable!
For Dorcas however things were different. Desiring to keep up her grades and keep her grandparents happy, she often spent more time in the library then not. Despite the librarian’s badgering, Dorcas would eat there, and on the more then occasional days sleep there upon getting very tired and too lazy to get up and walk the numerous flights of stairs to her actual bed. If a home was indeed a place that one spent majority of their time in, well then the Hogwarts library deserved to be at least her second home.
Take today for example. It was lunch time but Dorcas was nowhere near the great hall. She was four floors up in the library sitting at her usual table surrounded by a stack of potions text books. Today Professor Slughorn assigned an essay on the Drought of Living Death, the potions she had dealt with in class today. Finding it utterly fascinating, Dorcas decided to get it done today while the material was still fresh in her mind.
Dorcas should have been just finishing up if it wasn’t for the book avalanche that got in her way. After accidently knocking over her stack of books with her elbow, the books went tumbling to the floor. Unwillingly, Dorcas left her essay to pick up her books; however, as the stack grew taller and heavier in her arms, Dorcas couldn’t help but think, hey a little help here.
